   1 Metalog is a modern replacement for syslogd and klogd. The logged messages can
   2 be dispatched according to their facility, urgency, program name and/or
   3 Perl-compatible regular expressions.

   5 Log files can be automatically rotated when they exceed a certain size or age.
   6 External shell scripts (ex: mail) can be launched when specific patterns are
   7 found.

   9 Metalog is easier to configure than syslogd and syslog-ng, accepts unlimited
  10 number of rules and has (switchable) memory bufferisation for maximal
  11 performance.
