   4 To use the driver you will need to:

   6 (1) Add at least a device section to your XF86Config similar to the
   7     example in ${PREFIX}/share/examples/${PKGBASE}/XF86Config.example
   8     Please be sure to add ${PREFIX}/lib/modules to your ModulePath.

  10 (2) Symlink ${PREFIX}/etc/ati to /etc/ati.  Failure to do so will result
  11     in a watermark on the lower-right part of the screen saying
  12     `Testing use only' and `Unsupported hardware'.

  14 Note with 8.40.4: this release may not properly initialize some
  15 cards and may result in a machine hang.  One work around is to
  16 first run `initati' (provided in this package) which will initialize
  17 the card using an previous release of the driver.
