   1   Xsane is a versatile new frontend for SANE that is improved over
   2 the standard xscanimage.  Features are:

   4   * Scan and photocopy function.
   5   * Works as GIMP-plugin.
   6   * Unique user interface for all scanners.
   7   * 8 bit output formats: pnm, png, postscript, jpeg and tiff.
   8   * Experimental 16 bit support.
   9   * 16 bit output formats: pnm (ascii), png and raw (comparable to
  10     pnm raw).
  11   * Automatic increase of filename counter (use filename of the
  12     form: image-001.ext)
  13   * Changes of color enhancement  (gamma, brightness, contrast,
  14     white-, gray- and black point) are
  15   * updated in preview window without a new preview-scan!
  16   * Color enhancement for scanners/backends that do not support
  17     custom gamma.
  18   * Autoadjust-function for gamma, contrast and brightness.
