   1 The Perl 5 module Perl::Version provides a simple interface for
   2 parsing, manipulating and formatting Perl version strings.
   3 Unlike version.pm (which concentrates on parsing and comparing
   4 version strings) Perl::Version is designed for cases where you'd
   5 like to parse a version, modify it and get back the modified version
   6 formatted like the original.
