ViewVC is a browser interface for CVS and Subversion version control
repositories. It generates templatized HTML to present navigable directory,
revision, and change log listings. It can display specific versions of files as
well as diffs between those versions. Basically, ViewVC provides the bulk of the
report-like functionality you expect out of your version control tool, but much
more prettily than the average textual command-line program output.

Import rainbowcrack from pkgsrc-wip, packaged by David Howland

RainbowCrack is a general propose implementation of Philippe Oechslin's faster
time-memory trade-off technique.  In short, the RainbowCrack tool is a hash
cracker. A traditional brute force cracker try all possible plaintexts one by
one in cracking time. It is time consuming to break complex password in this
way. The idea of time-memory trade-off is to do all cracking time computation
in advance and store the result in files so called "rainbow table". It does
take a long time to precompute the tables. But once the one time precomputation
is finished, a time-memory trade-off cracker can be hundreds of times faster
than a brute force cracker, with the help of precomputed tables.

Anope is a set of Services for IRC networks that allows users to
manage their nicks and channels in a secure and efficient way, and
administrators to manage their network with powerful tools.

mt-daapd is a program which acts as an iTunes (DAAP) server for Linux
and other POSIX unixes. It may eventually support Win32 as well.

Some random features that it supports:
Supports the Roku SoundBridge (query/browse/index support)
Supports periodic rescans of the database
Can advertise shoutcast streams
Supports password-protected shares
Is web-configurable and managable
Support dynamic playlists, like iTunes "Smart playlists"

database is indexed by inode, so all music must be on one filesystem

Import august.

August is a very simple, free HTML editor for the UNIX platform.
It is a non-WYSIWYG editor like Aswedit or Hotdog. It has buttons
to insert standard HTML tags and other common simple text editor
commands.

August is written with the Tcl/TK scripting language and graphical
toolkit.  It's distributed as a single script, which means that if
you know Tcl/Tk you can very easily customize August yourself.

(This is old and out-dated but I am loking for something
that will be real easy for children to use.)

Import a xentools30-hvm package, version 3.0.3

The Xen virtual machine monitor allows running several virtual machines
on a single physical machine.  The xentools30-vmx package contains
additionnal tools to xentools30 to run unmodified guests using the
Intel VT or AMD VMX extentions.

LibVNCServer is ripped out of Xvnc to provide an easy API to write

This is based on Bruce Evans's C compiler with additonal code, including
a reasonable C library for ELKS DOS or standalone, written by myself and

daemons provides an easy way to wrap existing ruby scripts (for
example a self-written server) to be run as a daemon and to be
controlled by simple start/stop/restart commands.  daemons can also
run and control blocks of Ruby code in a daemon process.

etrace: A run-time tracing tool

These source files comprise a simple but efficient utility that allows the
display of a function call tree in a C program at run-time. It is also
possible to dump the results of a program execution to an ASCII file for
later examination.

* ptrace.c compiles your code to enable this run-time tracing
* etrace is a Python script that will perform the run-time tracing by
displaying the function names as they are called
* etrace.pl is a Perl script that will perform the run-time tracing by
displaying the function names as they are called. Moreover, etrace.pl
can be used to trace dynamic libraries.

LibSylph is an e-mail client library which is derived from Sylpheed.
LibSylph is a lightweight but featureful library. It has many common e-mail
related features and other useful functions, and you can utilize them from
your application. Moreover you can create a new e-mail client by wrapping
LibSylph with any UI.

python-musicbrainz2 contains various modules for accessing the MusicBrainz
web service, as well as parsing the MusicBrainz Metadata XML (MMD),
or calculating DiscIDs from Audio CDs.

The MusicBrainz Project (see http://musicbrainz.org) collects music
metadata and is maintained by its large and constantly growing user
community.

libdiscid is a library for creating MusicBrainz DiscIDs from audio CDs.
It reads a CD's table of contents (TOC) and generates an identifier which
can be used to lookup the CD at MusicBrainz (http://musicbrainz.org).
Additionally, it provides a submission URL for adding the DiscID to
the database.

The interface of this library is new, but the DiscID algorithm and the
operating system dependent CD-ROM/DVD-ROM access code have been ported
from libmusicbrainz version 2.

ctypes is an advanced ffi (Foreign Function Interface) package for Python
2.3 and higher.

ctypes allows to call functions exposed from dlls/shared libraries and
has extensive facilities to create, access and manipulate simple and
complicated C data types in Python - in other words: wrap libraries in
pure Python.  It is even possible to implement C callback functions in
pure Python.

Import ruby-tzinfo-0.3.2.

TZInfo is a Ruby library that uses the standard tz (Olson) database to
provide daylight savings aware transformations between times in
different time zones.  The tz database is compiled into Ruby modules
which are packaged in the release.  No external zoneinfo files are
required at runtime.

Fast Artificial Neural Network Library implements multilayer

and sparsely connected networks. Cross-platform execution in both
fixed and floating point are supported. It includes a framework for

Rails is a full-stack framework for developing database-backed web
applications according to the Model-View-Control pattern.  From the

development environment.  To go live, all you need to add is a
database and a web server.

This is the PAM to RADIUS authentication module. It allows any PAM-capable
machine to become a RADIUS client for authentication and accounting requests.
You will need a RADIUS server to perform the actual authentication.

Initial addition of p5-XML-SemanticDiff version 0.95 into the NetBSD
Packages Collection.

The perl5 module XML::SematicDiff provides a way to compare the
contents and structure of two XML documents. By default, it returns
a list of hashrefs where each hashref describes a single difference
between the two docs.

Imported checkperms.

checkperms is a small and simple program that detects many
inconsistencies in file and directory permissions. Theoretically, there
are 2^12 valid combinations (setuid, setgid, sticky, owner-rwx,
group-rwx, other-rwx), but only very few of them are actually used.

It can automatically fix the permissions if instructed so.

Imported portability-book.

The pkgsrc portability book covers many of the platform-specific issues
that are useful when writing programs that are portable to a great
number of UNIX-like operating systems.

PolyGlot is a "UCI adapter".  It connects a UCI chess engine to an
xboard interface such as WinBoard.  UCI2WB is another such adapter (for
Windows).

PolyGlot tries to solve known problems with other adapters.  For
instance, it detects and reports draws by fifty-move rule, repetition,
etc ...

Fruit is vice world computer chess champion 2005 and one of the
strongest chess programs in the world.

Fruit has a unique playing style, making it a good addition to any
chess-engine collection.

Fruit comes with a customised opening book and has many features which
make it interesting especially for the engine enthusiast and serious
correspondence player.

Imported swatch.

Swatch was originally written to actively monitor messages as they are
written to a log file via the UNIX syslog utility. For a simple
demonstration type "perl swatch --examine=FILENAME" with FILENAME being
the file that you would like to see the contents of. All this example
will do is demonstrate the different text modes that are available with
to the echo action.

Imported p5-Carp-Clan.

This module reports errors from the perspective of the caller of a
"clan" of modules, similar to "Carp.pm" itself. But instead of giving it
a number of levels to skip on the calling stack, you give it a pattern
to characterize the package names of the "clan" of modules which shall
never be blamed for any error. :-)

So these modules stick together like a "clan" and any error which occurs
will be blamed on the "outsider" script or modules not belonging to this
"clan".

Imported filelight.

Filelight allows you to understand exactly where your diskspace is being
used by graphically representating your filesystem as a set of
concentric segmented-rings.

LogJam is a client for LiveJournal.  It lets you post, edit old entries,

This code provides various crypt()-compatible interfaces to the
MD5-based crypt() function found in various *nixes.

Squirm is a fast and configurable redirector for the Squid Internet
Object Cache.

Initial import of p5-Net-SMTP_auth version 0.08 into the NetBSD Packages
Collection.

The Perl 5 module Net::SMTP_auth is a small extension to the
Net::SMTP module to authenticate to an SMTP server using one of
the AUTH methods provided by Authen::SASL.

Initial import of Arena-0.9.7, a C-like scripting language interpreter
with a 3-clause BSD licence, into the Packages collection.

A lightweight scripting language based on ANSI C.  The language uses a
syntax and library similar to that of ANSI C, but adds automatic
memory management and runtime polymorphism on top of that.

The Arena language was designed with the following main features in
mind, most of which were added on top of a very C-like core to support
better ad-hoc scripting:

     * syntax similar to ANSI C
     * standard library similar to ANSI C
     * automatic memory management
     * runtime polymorphism
     * support for exceptions
     * support for anonymous functions

Additionally, an interpreter for the Arena language can be implemented
to be very compact in terms of both source code size and memory

The SeaMonkey project is a community effort to deliver production-quality
releases of code derived from the application formerly known as "Mozilla
Application Suite". Whereas the main focus of the Mozilla Foundation is on
Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird, our group of dedicated volunteers
works to ensure that you can have "everything but the kitchen sink" (a web
browser, mail client, HTML composer, address book, IRC client and calendar),
and have it stable enough for corporate use.

This packages provides the necessary infrastructure for downloading nightly
builds of various Mozilla products (seamonkey, thunderbird, firefox).

mksh is the MirBSD enhanced version of the Public Domain Korn
shell (pdksh), a bourne-compatible shell which is largely si-
milar to the original AT&T Korn shell.  It includes bug fixes

PostGIS adds support for geographic objects to the PostgreSQL
object-relational database. In effect, PostGIS "spatially enables" the
PostgreSQL server, allowing it to be used as a backend spatial
database for geographic information systems (GIS), much like ESRI's
SDE or Oracle's Spatial extension. PostGIS follows the OpenGIS "Simple
Features Specification for SQL" and has been certified as compliant
with the "Types and Functions" profile.  PostGIS/PostgreSQL includes
the following functionality:

same time?  Well Tetris(R) probably isn't evil, but Bastet certainly is.

Bastet stands for "bastard tetris", and is a simple ncurses-based
Tetris(R) clone. Unlike normal Tetris(R), however, Bastet does not
choose your next brick at random.  Instead, Bastet uses a special
algorithm designed to choose the worst brick possible.  As you can
imagine, playing Bastet can be a very frustrating experience!

The guile-gnome project brings the power of Scheme to your graphical
application.  guile-gnome modules support the entire Gnome library
stack: from Pango to GnomeCanvas, Gtk+ to GStreamer, Glade to
GtkSourceView, you will find in guile-gnome a comprehensive
environment for developing modern applications.

not cache passphrases, so gpg-agent (security/gnupg-devel) is
recommended.

Icon Naming Utilities is a program that helps with the transition to the
new naming scheme defined by the Tango project.  This utility maps the
icon names used by the GNOME and KDE desktops to the icon names proposed

Mping is a system for collecting packet delay and loss
statistics in a TCP/IP network using ICMP echo.

Mping is based on original ping(8) with following new features:

Initial import of a test that checks whether MAKE_ENV changes between
build and install phase.  MAKE_ENV needs to remain the same for
packages that use scons.  Otherwise, in the install step, scons will
take the new MAKE_ENV to mean that the build action changed, and it will
rebuild the package with the wrong configuration and install that.

Httping is like 'ping' but for http-requests.

This library provides a C++ interface to XML files.  It uses libxml2
to access the XML files, and in order to configure libxml++ you
must have both libxml and pkg-config installed.

SaraB works with DAR (Disk ARchive) to schedule and rotate hard drive based
backups.  SaraB supports the Towers of Hanoi, Grandfather-Father-Son, or any

Cogito is a version control system layered on top of the git tree
history storage system. It aims at seamless user interface and ease of
use, providing generally smoother user experience than the "raw" Core
GIT itself and indeed many other version control systems.

GIT is a "directory content manager" designed to handle absolutely massive
projects with speed and efficiency, and the release of the 2.6.12 (and later)
versions of the Linux kernel as well as more and more other projects switching
to it would indicate that it does this task well.

GIT falls in the category of distributed source code management tools, similar
to e.g. GNU Arch or Monotone (or, in the commercial world, BitKeeper). Every
GIT working directory is a full-fledged repository with full revision tracking
capabilities, not dependent on network access to a central server.

The BWidget Toolkit is a high-level Widget Set for Tcl/Tk built using

The BWidgets have a professional look&feel as in other well known

because everything is pure Tcl/Tk.  No platform dependencies, and no
compiling required.  The code is 100% Pure Tcl/Tk.

Lush is an object-oriented Lisp interpreter/compiler with features
designed to please people who want to prototype large numerical
applications. Lush includes an extensive library of
vector/matrix/tensor manipulation, numerous numerical libraries
(including GSL, LAPACK, and BLAS), a set of graphic functions, a
simple GUI toolkit, and interfaces to various graphic and multimedia
libraries such as OpenGL, SDL, Video4Linux, and ALSA (video/audio
grabbing), and others. Lush is an ideal frontend script language for
programming projects written in C or other languages.  Lush also has
libraries for Machine Learning, Neural Nets and statistical estimation
(which are the main interests of the authors).

This package provides three utilities to manipulate MP3 audio files:

* cddb2cue: Creates cue sheets from CDDB files.

This module provides an interface for extracting data from CDDB-format data
files, as used by freedb.  It does not read data from your CD nor submits
information to freedb.

Initial import of p5-MPEG-Audio-Frame, version 0.09:

A very simple, pure Perl module which allows parsing out data from MP3 files
or streams and chunking them up into different frames.  You can use this to
accurately determine the length of an MP3, filter non-audio data, or chunk up
the file for streaming via datagram.  Virtually anything is possible.

This module supports MPEG-1, MPEG-2 Multichannel, MPEG-2 LSF and MPEG-2.5.

Import p5-HTTP-Lite from pkgsrc-wip.  Packaged by Eric Schnoebelen.

HTTP::Lite is a stand-alone lightweight HTTP/1.1 implementation
for perl.  It is not intended as a replacement for the fully-features
LWP module.  Instead, it is intended for use in situations where
it is desirable to install the minimal number of modules to achieve
HTTP support, or where LWP is not a good candidate due to CPU
overhead, such as slower processors.  HTTP::Lite is also significantly
faster than LWP.

This program is a replacement for phdisk.exe that allows you to create
a save2dsk.bin hibernation file for Phoenix notebios laptops.  It
works with most IBM Thinkpads.

shntool is a multi-purpose WAVE data processing and reporting utility.
File formats are abstracted from its core, so it can process any file
that contains WAVE data, compressed or not - provided there exists a
format module to handle that particular file type.

This is a development version with new features that has not undergone
extensive testing.

The OpenGL Extension Wrangler Library (GLEW) is a cross-platform
C/C++ extension loading library. GLEW provides efficient run-time
mechanisms for determining which OpenGL extensions are supported
on the target platform. OpenGL core and extension functionality is
exposed in a single header file.

The Unix::ConfigFile distribution is a suite of modules that provide simple
interfaces to various Unix configuration files.  The objective is to free the
system administrator from dealing with the trivial formatting details of the
files, and allow him or her to concentrate on the information therein.

String::Random is used to generate random strings.  It was written to
make generating random passwords and such a little easier.

The unix_md5_crypt() provides a crypt()-compatible interface to the rather
new MD5-based crypt() function found in modern operating systems.

mod_auth_xradius provides high performance authentication against
RFC 2865 RADIUS Servers.

Increased reliance on optimistic data replication has led to
burgeoning interest in tools and frameworks for synchronizing
disconnected updates to replicated data.  To better understand the
issues underlying the design of generic and heterogeneous synchronizers,
we have implemented an experimental framework, called Harmony, that
can be used to build synchronizers for tree-structured data stored
in a variety of concrete formats, in particular XML.

Initial import of pxp-1.1.6:

PXP is a validating XML parser for O'Caml. It strictly complies to
the XML-1.0 standard.

The parser is simple to call, usually only one statement (function
call) is sufficient to parse an XML document and to represent it
as object tree.

Once the document is parsed, it can be accessed using a class
interface. The interface allows arbitrary access including
transformations. One of the features of the document representation
is its polymorphic nature; it is simple to add custom methods to
the document classes. Furthermore, the parser can be configured
such that different XML elements are represented by objects created
from different classes. This is a very powerful feature, because
it simplifies the structure of programs processing XML documents.

Note that the class interface does not comply to the DOM standard.
It was not a development goal to realize a standard API (industrial
developers can this much better than I); however, the API is powerful
enough to be considered as equivalent with DOM. More important,
the interface is compatible with the XML information model required
by many XML-related standards.

Initial import of ocamlnet-1.1.2:

The Ocamlnet project provides a collection of modules for the
Objective Caml language which focus on application-level Internet
protocols and conventions.

The current distribution contains:

- a mature implementation of the CGI protocol
- an implementation of the JSERV protocol (AJP-1.2), can be used with
  mod_jserv (Apache JServ) and mod_jk (Jakarta connector) to connect
  application servers written in O'Caml with web servers
- a FastCGI implementation
- a POP3 client
- an SMTP client
- a library of string processing functions related to Internet
  protocols (formerly known as "netstring" and distributed separately):
  MIME encoding/decoding, Date/time parsing, Character encoding
  conversion, HTML parsing and printing, URL parsing and printing,
  OO-representation of channels, and a lot more.
- an experimental web server component

Initial import of equeue-2.1.3:

Equeue is a library for OCaml, providing a generic event queue
module and a specific module for file descriptor events. Furthermore,
this library has been merged with the Shell library implementing
the invocation of external commands including pipelines and
redirections.

Import devel/Data-Dump-1.06
This module provides a single function called dump() that takes a
list of values as its argument and produces a string as its result.
The string contains Perl code that, when evaled, produces a deep
copy of the original arguments. The string is formatted for easy
reading.

If dump() is called in a void context, then the dump is printed on
STDERR instead of being returned.

If you don't like importing a function that overrides Perl's
not-so-useful builtin, then you can also import the same function
as pp(), mnemonic for "pretty-print".

Import imapsync-1.182
imapsync is a tool for facilitating incremental recursive IMAP
transfers from one mailbox to another. It is useful for mailbox
migration, and reduces the amount of data transferred by only
copying messages that are not present on both servers. Read, unread,
and deleted flags are preserved, and the process can be stopped
and resumed. The original messages can optionally be deleted after
a successful transfer.

This is the Apache 2.x RADIUS authentication module. It allows any Apache 2.x
web-server to become a RADIUS client for authentication and accounting
requests. You will, however, need to supply your own RADIUS server to
perform the actual authentication.

Initial import of udpcast-20060619, requested in PR 34171:

UDPcast is a file transfer tool that can send data simultaneously
to many destinations on a LAN. This can for instance be used to
install entire classrooms of PC's at once. The advantage of UDPcast
over using other methods (nfs, ftp, whatever) is that UDPcast uses
Ethernet's multicast abilities: it won't take longer to install 15
machines than it would to install just 2.

Initial import of p5-GMail-IMAPD, version 0.93:

The GMail-IMAPD module allows users to access their Gmail account with an
IMAP client by running a server which accepts IMAP connections.

Initial import of p5-Mail-Webmail-Gmail, version 1.08:

The Mail-Webmail-Gmail module provides an interface to Google's mail web
service.
