mserv-irman allows easy control of the 'mserv' mp3 jukebox program
using ordinary remote controls and irman receivers from evation.com.

mserv already allows rating of tracks to allow the system to pick
tracks appropriate to who is currently connected. mserv-irman works
with this to permit relatively peaceful sharing of an mp3 jukebox
in an office of widely disparate tastes.

This replaces audio/mserv_irman, also moving the source to code.google
and enabling DESTDIR support

This module provides some functions which help conversion of numeric notation
between Roman and Arabic.

When the Perl 5 module Carp::REPL is loaded and the perl interpreter
dies, a read-eval-print-loop (REPL), with a few debugger like
commands, is spawned before it quits. A REPL can also be spawned
when a warning is issued.  This module is intended to be used mostly
through the command line but can also be used for testing or any
other situation.

Initial import of p5-Test-Expect version 0.31 in the NetBSD Packages

The Perl 5 module Test::Expect is a module for automated driving
and testing of terminal-based programs. It is handy for testing
interactive programs which have a prompt, and is based on the same
concepts as the Tcl Expect tool. As in Expect::Simple, the Expect
object is made available for tweaking.

Initial import of p5-Expect-Simple version 0.04 in the NetBSD
Packages Collection.

The Perl 5 module Expect::Simple is a wrapper around the Expect
module which should suffice for simple applications. It hides most
of the Expect machinery; the Expect object is available for tweaking
if need be.

Added editors/ee version 1.4.6

The editor 'ee' (easy editor) is intended to be a simple, easy to use
terminal-based screen oriented editor that requires no instruction to
use.  Its primary use would be for people who are new to computers, or who
use computers only for things like e-mail.

ee's simplified interface is highlighted by the use of pop-up menus which
make it possible for users to carry out tasks without the need to
remember commands.  An information window at the top of the screen shows
the user the operations available with control-keys.

ee allows users to use full eight-bit characters.  If the host system has
the capabilities, ee can use message catalogs, which would allow users to
translate the message catalog into other languages which use eight-bit
characters.  See the file ee.i18n.guide for more details.

ee relies on the virtual memory abilities of the platform it is running on
and does not have its own memory management capabilities.

The Perl 5 module Devel::StackTrace::WithLexicals by combining the
modules Devel::StackTrace and PadWalker, generates stack traces

The Perl 5 module WWW::Shorten provides an interface to URL shortening
sites. These sites maintain databases of long URLs, each of which
has a unique identifier. A very simple program called shorten is
supplied. This program takes a URL and gives you a shortened version

The Perl 5 module Config::Auto provides an interface to diverse
config file formats 'magically': colon separated, space separated,

IEs4Linux is the simpler way to have Microsoft Internet Explorer
running on any OS running Wine.

It provides a script with an optional GUI interface to install
various versions of IE and associated registry settings and plugins
into your .wine configuration.

Import of py-jinja 1.2

Jinja is a sandboxed template engine written in pure Python. It provides a
Django like non-XML syntax and compiles templates into executable python
code.  It's basically a combination of Django templates and python code.

Initial import of p5-local-lib version 1.3.1 in the NetBSD Packages

The Perl 5 module local::lib allows for the bootstrapping and usage
of a directory containing Perl modules outside of Perl's @INC. This
makes it easier to ship an application with an app-specific copy
of a Perl module, or collection of modules. Useful in cases like
when an upstream maintainer hasn't applied a patch to a module of
theirs that you need for your application.

The Perl 5 module Spreadsheet::Read tries to transparently read
*any* spreadsheet and return its content in a universal manner
independent of the parsing module that does the actual spreadsheet
scanning.

The Perl 5 module Spreadsheet::XLSX is a (quick and dirty) emulation
of Spreadsheet::ParseExcel for Excel 2007 (.xlsx) file format. It
supports styles and many of Excel's quirks, but not all. It populates
the classes from Spreadsheet::ParseExcel for interoperability;
including Workbook, Worksheet, and Cell.

Import py-sphinx 0.5.1

Sphinx is a tool that makes it easy to create intelligent and beautiful
documentation for Python projects (or other documents consisting of multiple
reStructuredText sources), written by Georg Brandl. It was originally
created to translate the new Python documentation, but has now been cleaned
up in the hope that it will be useful to many other projects.

Sphinx uses reStructuredText as its markup language, and many of its
strengths come from the power and straightforwardness of reStructuredText
and its parsing and translating suite, the Docutils.

Although it is still under constant development, the following features are
already present, work fine and can be seen "in action" in the Python docs:
* Output formats: HTML (including Windows HTML Help), plain text and LaTeX,
  for printable PDF versions
* Extensive cross-references: semantic markup and automatic links for
  functions, classes, glossary terms and similar pieces of information
* Hierarchical structure: easy definition of a document tree, with automatic

PokerTH is a poker game written in C++/QT4. You can play the popular "Texas
Hold'em" poker variant against up to six computer-opponents or play network
games with people all over the world. This poker engine is available for Linux,
Windows, and MacOSX and BSD.

Initial import of p5-Cisco-Abbrev version 0.02 in the NetBSD Packages

The Perl 5 module Cisco::Abbrev converts between Cisco canonical
interface names (i.e. GigabitEthernet0/1) and the abbreviated forms
often output by their devices (i.e. Gi0/1).

Initial import of p5-Net-CIDR-Set version 0.10 in the NetBSD Packages
Collection.

The Perl 5 module Net::CIDR::Set represents sets of IP addresses
and allows standard set operations (union, intersection, membership
test etc) to be performed on them.  In spite of the name it can
work with sets consisting of arbitrary ranges of IP addresses - not
just CIDR blocks.  Both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses are handled - but
they may not be mixed in the same set.

The Perl 5 module Config::INI yet another config module implementing
yet another slightly different take on the undeniably easy to read
or write ".ini" file format. Its default behavior is quite similar
to that of Config::Tiny, on which it is based.  The chief difference
is that Config::INI is designed to be subclassed to allow for
side-effects and self-reconfiguration.

The Perl 5 modules Mixin::Linewise::Readers and Mixin::Linewise::Writers
provide methods for handling reading from or writing to strings or
files designated by name: only a method to handle file handles has

pisa is a html2pdf convert using ReportLab, HTML5lib and pyPDF.
It supports HTML 5 and CSS 2.1.

Import py-html5lib-0.11:
html5lib is a pure-python library for parsing HTML. The parser is
designed to handle all flavours of HTML and  parses invalid documents
using well-defined error handling rules compatible with the behaviour of
major desktop web browsers.

Output is to a tree structure; the current release supports output to
DOM, ElementTree, lxml and BeautifulSoup tree formats as well as a
simple custom format.

FUPPES is a free, multiplatform UPnP A/V Media Server.

FUPPES supports a wide range of UPnP MediaRenderers (see website for
details) as well as on-the-fly transcoding of various audio, video and image
formats. It also includes basic DLNA support.

An alternate implementation for the Pathname library. This version treats
a path name as a String, though with certain methods overloaded.

Import tstools version 1.11.

tstools is a set of cross-platform command line tools for working with MPEG
data.

The emphasis is on relatively simple tools which concentrate on MPEG (H.264 and
H.262) data packaged according to H.222 (i.e., TS or PS), with a particular
interest in checking for conformance.

Transport Stream (TS) is typically used for distribution of cable and satellite
data. Program Stream (PS) is typically used to store data on DVDs.

The tools are focused on:

    * Quick reporting of useful data (tsinfo, stream_type)
    * Giving a quick overview of the entities in the stream (esdots, psdots)
    * Reporting on TS packets (tsreport) or ES units/frames/fields (esreport)
    * Simple manipulation of stream data (es2ts, esfilter, esreverse, esmerge,
      ts2es)
    * Streaming of data, possibly with introduced errors (tsplay)

This is a collection of scripts included in teTeX.  The development of
the original teTeX ceased in 2006, and these scripts are now

Import lua-tokyocabinet-1.4 as databases/lua-tokyocabinet.

Tokyo Cabinet is a library of routines for managing a database.  The database is
a simple data file containing records, each is a pair of a key and a value.
Every key and value is serial bytes with variable length.  Both binary data and
character string can be used as a key and a value.  There is neither concept of
data tables nor data types.  Records are organized in hash table, B+ tree, or
fixed-length array.

This package provides Lua binding of Tokyo Cabinet.

Import mkv2mp4 based on SVN revision r11. I think I'll nominate it for
the 'ugliest package name of the month' award (py25-mkv2mp4-0.0alpha11), but
it is in fact quite handy.

mkv2mp4 is a commandline utility, written in Python, which allows conversion
of video files in the Matroska container (*.mkv file extension) containing
H.264 video to be converted into a format which the Xbox 360 can play.

It differs from other similar tools in that no video transcoding is
performed; the video is passed through untouched and the just the audio is
transcoded if necessary.  This means that the conversion is much faster
(the whole process being quicker than realtime on reasonably modern
machines), and more importantly that there is no degradation in video quality
(which makes it very suitable for HD video).

GPAC features encoders and multiplexers, publishing and content distribution
tools for MP4 and 3GPP or 3GPP2 files and many tools for scene descriptions
(BIFS/VRML/X3D converters, SWF/BIFS, SVG/BIFS, etc...). MP4Box provides all

The Linux FourCC Changer is a simple command line utility for working with
Microsoft AVI files. Features:

HandBrake is an open-source, GPL-licensed, multiplatform, multithreaded video

Import p5-Term-ANSIColor version 1.12.

This module has two interfaces, one through color() and colored()
and the other through constants. It also offers the utility function
uncolor(), which has to be explicitly imported to be used (see
"SYNOPSIS").

color() takes any number of strings as arguments and considers them
to be space-separated lists of attributes. It then forms and returns
the escape sequence to set those attributes. It doesn't print it
out, just returns it, so you'll have to print it yourself if you
want to (this is so that you can save it as a string, pass it to
something else, send it to a file handle, or do anything else with
it that you might care to).

uncolor() performs the opposite translation, turning escape sequences
into a list of strings.

With this module, we can specify subroutine signatures and have
variables automatically defined within the subroutine.

This module provides a basic method keyword with simple signatures.
It's intentionally simple, and is supposed to be a stepping stone
for its bigger brothers MooseX::Method::Signatures and Method::Signatures.
It only has a small benefit over regular subs, so if you want more
features, look at those modules. But if you're looking for a small
amount of syntactic sugar, this might just be enough.

Stateful programmatic web browsing, after Andy Lester's Perl module
WWW::Mechanize.

The library is layered: mechanize.Browser (stateful web browser),
mechanize.UserAgent (configurable URL opener), plus urllib2 handlers.

high-level hyperlink and HTML form support, HTTP cookies, HTTP-EQUIV
and Refresh, Referer [sic] header, robots.txt, redirections, proxies,

objects are (lazily-) .seek()able and still work after .close().

help2man is a tool for automatically generating simple manual pages from
program output.

It is intended to provide an easy way for software authors to include a
manual page in their distribution without having to maintain that document.

Given a program which produces resonably standard --help and --version
outputs, help2man will attempt to re-arrange that output into something
which resembles a manual page.

Pastebins (also known as nopaste sites) let you post text, usually
code, for public viewing. They're used a lot in IRC channels to
show code that would normally be too long to give directly in the
channel (hence the name nopaste).

Each pastebin is slightly different. When one pastebin goes down
then you have to find a new one. And if you usually use a script
to publish text, then it's too much hassle.

The Perl 5 module App::Nopaste aims to smooth out the differences
between pastebins, and provides redundancy: if one site doesn't
work, it just tries a different one. A commande line script is
provided.

distcc is a program to distribute compilation of C or C++ code across
several machines on a network. distcc should always generate the same
results as a local compile, is simple to install and use, and is often
two or more times faster than a local compile.

distcc does not require all machines to share a filesystem, have
synchronized clocks, or to have the same libraries or header files
installed. Machines can be running different operating systems, as long
as they have compatible binary formats or cross-compilers.

This package provides pump - accelerated remote compilation with distcc.

Accerciser is an interactive Python accessibility explorer for the
GNOME desktop. It uses AT-SPI to inspect and control widgets,
allowing you to check if an application is providing correct
information to assistive technologies and automated test frameworks.
Accerciser has a simple plugin framework which you can use to create
custom views of accessibility information.

In essence, Accerciser is a next generation at-poke tool.

This plugin adds a libnotify interface to pidgin, enabling popups much like
guifications. It has some configuration options, to show popups when a buddy

gWaei is a Japanese-English dictionary program for the GNOME desktop.
It is made to be a modern drop in replacement for Gjiten with many

ioquake3 is a game engine project which aims to build upon id Software's Quake
3 source code release. The source code was released on August 20, 2005 under
the GPL.

The project's goal is to create a bug-free, enhanced open source Quake 3
source code distribution upon which new games and projects can be based, as
well as an improved version (in relation to the original binaries) of the
engine for playing Quake III: Arena, the Team Arena expansion pack and all the
popular mods.

msn-pecan is a fork of the MSN plug-in from Pidgin. Compared to Pidgin's
official MSN plug-in:

Import p5-MooseX-StrictConstructor version 0.07.

Simply loading this module makes your constructors "strict". If
your constructor is called with an attribute init argument that
your class does not declare, then it calls "Carp::confess()". This
is a great way to catch small typos.

Import p5-Data-Stream-Bulk version 0.03.

This module tries to find middle ground between one at a time and
all at once processing of data sets.

The purpose of this module is to avoid the overhead of implementing
an iterative api when this isn't necessary, without breaking forward
compatibility in case that becomes necessary later on.

The API optimizes for when a data set typically fits in memory and
is returned as an array, but the consumer cannot assume that the
data set is bounded.

The API is destructive in order to minimize the chance that resultsets
are leaked due to improper usage.

Import p5-DBD-Mock version 1.39.

Testing with databases can be tricky. If you are developing a system
married to a single database then you can make some assumptions
about your environment and ask the user to provide relevant connection
information. But if you need to test a framework that uses DBI,
particularly a framework that uses different types of persistence
schemes, then it may be more useful to simply verify what the
framework is trying to do -- ensure the right SQL is generated and
that the correct parameters are bound. DBD::Mock makes it easy to
just modify your configuration (presumably held outside your code)
and just use it instead of DBD::Foo (like DBD::Pg or DBD::mysql)
in your framework.

Import p5-Test-TempDir version 0.04.

Test::TempDir provides temporary directory creation with testing in mind.

The differences between using this and using File::Temp are:

    * If t/tmp is available (writable, creatable, etc) it's preferred
      over $ENV{TMPDIR} etc. Otherwise a temporary directory will be
      used.
      This is temp_root
    * Lockfiles are used on t/tmp, to prevent race conditions when
      running under a parallel test harness.
    * The temp_root is cleaned at the end of a test run, but not
      if tests failed.
    * temp_root is emptied at the begining of a test run unconditionally.
    * The default policy is not to clean the individual tempfiles
      and tempdirs within temp_root, in order to aid in debugging of
      failed tests.

Import p5-File-Path to version 2.07.

This module provide a convenient way to create directories of
arbitrary depth and to delete an entire directory subtree from the
filesystem.

Import p5-MooseX-Types-Path-Class version 0.05.

MooseX::Types::Path::Class creates common Moose types, coercions
and option specifications useful for dealing with Path::Class
objects as Moose attributes.

Coercions (see Moose::Util::TypeConstraints) are made from both
'Str' and 'ArrayRef' to both Path::Class::Dir and Path::Class::File
objects. If you have MooseX::Getopt installed, the Getopt option
type ("=s") will be added for both Path::Class::Dir and Path::Class::File.

ebook-tools provides tools for accessing and converting various
ebook file formats.

Import graphics/frameworks version 0.3.7.

Frameworks is stop-motion animation frame capture software primarily for
Linux. Frameworks captures images from a camera and strings them together into
an animation. These still images may then be combined into a single video file
using other software. Only video4linux webcams are currently supported; work
is being done to add other types of digital cameras including IEEE 1394
camcorders, and USB still cameras. Frameworks is designed to be easily used
alongside the GIMP Animation Package (GAP).

Frameworks provides an interface to camera brightness and other controls. It
captures images as frame_0001.png, frame_0002.png, and so on. Frameworks
provides animation assistance in the form of onion skinning: displaying ghost
images of previous frames, and continuous preview: continuous playback of the
most recent few seconds followed by the live view from the camera. No editing
features are provided.

CUnit is a lightweight system for writing, administering, and running
unit tests in C.  It provides C programmers a basic testing
functionality with a flexible variety of user interfaces.

CUnit is built as a static library which is linked with the user's

data types.  In addition, several different interfaces are provided
for running tests and reporting results.  These interfaces currently

Eigen 2 is a C++ template library for linear algebra: vectors, matrices, and
related algorithms. It is:
* Versatile. Eigen handles, without code duplication, and in a completely
  integrated way:
  o both fixed-size and dynamic-size matrices and vectors.
  o both dense and sparse (the latter is still experimental) matrices and
    vectors.
  o both plain matrices/vectors and abstract expressions.
  o both column-major (the default) and row-major matrix storage.
  o both basic matrix/vector manipulation and many more advanced, specialized
    modules providing algorithms for linear algebra, geometry, quaternions,
    or advanced array manipulation.
* Fast.
  o Expression templates allow to intelligently remove temporaries and enable
    lazy evaluation, when that is appropriate -- Eigen takes care of this
    automatically and handles aliasing too in most cases.
  o Explicit vectorization is performed for the SSE (2 and later) and AltiVec
    instruction sets, with graceful fallback to non-vectorized code.
    Expression templates allow to perform these optimizations globally for
    whole expressions.
  o With fixed-size objects, dynamic memory allocation is avoided, and the
    loops are unrolled when that makes sense.
  o For large matrices, special attention is paid to cache-friendliness.
* Elegant. The API is extremely clean and expressive, thanks to expression
  templates. Implementing an algorithm on top of Eigen feels like just copying
  pseudocode. You can use complex expressions and still rely on Eigen to
  produce optimized code: there is no need for you to manually decompose
  expressions into small steps.
* Compiler-friendy. Eigen has very reasonable compilation times at least with
  GCC, compared to other C++ libraries based on expression templates and heavy
  metaprogramming. Eigen is also standard C++ and supports various compilers.

PackageKit using compiled and scripted helpers. PackageKit isn't meant to
replace these tools, instead providing a common set of abstractions that can
be used by standard GUI and text mode package managers.

PackageKit itself is a system activated daemon called packagekitd. Being
system activated means that it's only being run when the user is using a text
mode or graphical tool, and quits when it's no longer being used. This means
we don't delay the boot sequence or session startup and don't consume memory
when not being used.

NAnt is a free .NET build tool. In theory it is kind of like make without
make's wrinkles. In practice it's a lot like Ant.

NAnt is different.  Instead of a model where it is extended with shell-based
commands, NAnt is extended using task classes.  Instead of writing shell
commands, the configuration files are XML-based, calling out a target tree
where various tasks get executed.  Each task is run by an object that
implements a particular Task interface.

The MiniUPnP project offers software which supports the UPnP Internet Gateway
Device (IGD) specifications. Recently, NAT-PMP support was added to
MiniUPnPd. For client side NAT-PMP support, use libnatpmp.

UPnP and NAT-PMP are used to improve internet connectivity for devices behind
a NAT router. Any peer to peer network application such as games, IM, etc.
can benefit from a NAT router supporting UPnP and/or NAT-PMP.

The latest generation Microsoft XBOX 360 and Sony Playstation 3 game machines
use UPnP commands to enable the online play with the XBOX Live service and
the Playstation Network. It has been reported that miniupnpd is correctly
working with the two consoles.

Email::Sender replaces the old and sometimes problematic Email::Send
library, which did a decent job at handling very simple email
sending tasks, but was not suitable for serious use, for a variety
of reasons.

At present, the casual user is probably best off using
Email::Send::Transport::Sendmail. If a local sendmail program is
unavailable, Email::Send::Transport::SMTP will allow you to send
mail through your relay host.

In the future, Email::Sender::Simple will provide a very simple
interface for sending mail.

Import lottanzb version 0.4.0.

LottaNZB aims to simplify and automate the download of binary news from the
Usenet, a world-wide internet discussion system. Users can tell LottaNZB what
to download using so-called NZB files, which are created by many Usenet search
engines. LottaNZB integrates nicely with GNOME desktops, but is not limited to
them and uses the mature HellaNZB software as its foundation.
