   1 Festival is an advanced multi-lingual speech synthesis system
   2 developed at CSTR. It offers a full text to speech system with various
   3 APIs, as well an environment for development and research of speech
   4 synthesis techniques. It is written in C++ with a Scheme-based command
   5 interpreter for general control.

   7 You will also need to install at least one festvox-* (festival voice)
   8 package (infact, the festvox packages are dependent on this package).

  10 festival --tts foo.bar will speak ASCII file foo.bar, (SayText "Oh
  11 Dad! We're ALL Devo!")
