   1 This is libpcap, a system-independent interface for user-level packet
   2 capture.  libpcap provides a portable framework for low-level network
   3 monitoring.  Applications include network statistics collection,
   4 security monitoring, network debugging, etc.  Since almost every
   5 system vendor provides a different interface for packet capture, and
   6 since we've developed several tools that require this functionality,
   7 we've created this system-independent API to ease in porting and to
   8 alleviate the need for several system-dependent packet capture modules
   9 in each application.
