  13 <p>This is an index for a set of troubleshooting notes contained in
  14 individual text files in the <tt>./hints</tt> directory. They were
  15 supplied by various volunteers in the form of mail messages, patches or
  16 just plain word of mouth. Each note applies to a specific computer and
  17 operating system and gives information found useful in setting up the
  18 NTP distribution or site configuration. The notes are very informal and
  19 subject to errors; no attempt has been made to verify the accuracy of
  20 the information contained in them.

  22 <p>Additions or corrections to this list or the information contained in
  23 the notes is solicited. The most useful submissions include the name of
  24 the computer manufacturer (and model numbers where appropriate),
  25 operating system (specific version(s) where appropriate), problem
  26 description, problem solution and submitter's name and electric address.
