   1 Gmerlin_avdecoder is a general purpose media decoding library. It
   2 was written as a support library for gmerlin, but it can also be
   3 used by other applications. You don't even need gmerlin installed,
   4 only gavl. Most of it was written completely from scratch, but the
   5 sourcetrees of some other great software packages were used as
   6 reference documentation. Credits go to the authors of Xine, MPlayer,
   7 quicktime4linux and ffmpeg.

   9 Gmerlin_avdecoder is one of the most complete general purpose media
  10 decoding libraries. The supported formats and codecs span a wide
  11 range of applications from consumer level (mp3, divx etc.) to high
  12 end production formats like 32 bit PCM and some professional
  13 uncompressed video codecs.
