   1 Portsnap is a system for securely updating the FreeBSD ports tree by
   2 distributing signed compressed snapshots over HTTP.  This is the
   3 client half of that system; it downloads compressed snapshots into
   4 /usr/local/portsnap ("portsnap fetch") and uses those to extract
   5 a ports tree into /usr/ports ("portsnap extract") or update an
   6 existing tree ("portsnap update").
