   1 'tbku' is a utility script for producing "tarball" backups of some- or
   2 all of your files. It is useful both for producing incremental backups
   3 or for systemwide images or "snapshots". The script can be run either
   4 from the command line or, more typically, as a cron job to automate
   5 system backup tasks.

   7 The central benefit of using 'tbku' over hand written tar commands is
   8 that 'tbku' is "table driven". You specify the set of files to back up
   9 in a table (a separate file). You can have as many of these "filesets"
  10 as you wish, corresponding to different kinds of backups you want
  11 done. 'tbku' will do backups automatically or manually, based on the
  12 name of the "fileset". This considerably simplifies automating
  13 backups, keeping backup logs, and generally maintaining an orderly
  14 backup environment.

  16 'tbku' can also be used to capture system images which can then
  17 later be used to (re)provision other machines.
