   1 Sndio is a small audio and MIDI framework part of the OpenBSD project.

   3 It provides an lightweight audio & MIDI server and a fully documented
   4 user-space API to access either the server or directly the hardware in
   5 a uniform way.  Sndio is designed to work for desktop applications,
   6 but pays special attention to synchronization mechanisms and
   7 reliability required by music applications.  Reliability through
   8 simplicity are part of the project goals.
