  46 The PCF8584 is an integrated circuit designed in CMOS technology which serves
  47 as an interface between most standard parallel-bus
  48 microcontrollers/microprocessors and the serial I2C-bus.
  49 The PCF8584
  50 provides both master and slave functions.
  51 Communication with I2C-bus is
  52 carried out on a byte-wise basis using interrupt or polled handshake.

  54 controls all the I2C-bus specific sequences, protocol, arbitration and timing.
