   1 The tcp_wrappers package allows you to monitor and filter incoming
   2 requests for the SYSTAT, FINGER, FTP, TELNET, RLOGIN, RSH, EXEC, TFTP,
   3 TALK, and other network services. It provides tiny daemon wrapper
   4 programs that can be installed without any changes to existing
   5 software or to existing configuration files. The wrappers report the
   6 name of the client host and of the requested service. The wrappers do
   7 not exchange information with the client or server applications, and
   8 impose no overhead on the actual conversation between the client and
   9 server applications.
