update to
20000506 snapshot.
changes from the last packaged snapshot (from the authors announcement):
---------------Icarus Verilog
20000506 Snapshot------------------
A lot of internal reworking has been done on this, so there might be
problems with things like symbol binding. But I think this is much better
then the last snapshot. I am once again starting to think about a
stable release. I'll shoot for the end of May, so if there is anything
you want to see in that release, start pestering me.
The big job has been a rewrite of the symbol table that holds signals.
The previous elaboration and lookup code for signals/memories did not
work properly when hierarchical names were used in the context of tasks
and functions. Also, the old table kept all the signals is a single
lookup table that failed to take advantage of knowledge of the current
scope.
All that is changed. signals are now elaborated after parameters and
before processes, so all hierarchical accesses should work properly now,
no matter how contorted. I've also fixed some bugs with function/task
parameter passing.
I've also added some infrastructure for supporting system functions, and
I've added an implementation of the $random system function. This currently
uses the native random(3) C library function, but once I get access to the
standardized algorithm, I'll implement that.
There are also a few fixes to elaboration of ternary operators. They were
a bit touchy about result bit widths.
A few preprocessor bugs have been fixed, especially related to the
`ifdef/`endif tokens. People are all the sudden starting to use the
Icarus Verilog preprocessor, so some long-standing bugs have been caught.
The iverilog command had a few path problems fixed, and the remaining
necessary switches have been added. I really encourage people to start
using iverilog in place of verilog. The test suite now uses iverilog to
run the compiler, so should you. There is a man page.

directly. Should it turn out that packages are using it directly, it
will be moved.

Adapt this to the new java package world order.
While here, don't install the whole jsdk20 environment, as this is an older
version, and is generally useful only in order to get the jsdk20 jar file
for building jserv. This means we no longer install the bin/servletrunner
test harness, and we no longer install the jsdk source.
Users interested in these would be better off looking at the current jsdk
(pkgsrc/www/jakarta-tomcat), or jsdk2.1, which does not currently have
a package, but is at least rather less obsolete...
jserv will be adapted to use the new paths for this in a separate commit,
in a few minutes.

add dependency on guile. This is required for arch's which don't get
guile through devel/libgtop.
This fixes PR pkg/10074.
Thanks to Matthias Scheler <tron@netbsd.org> for the fix.

Begin unification of install paths for java based packages. Scheme is:
* binaries which are not JVM dependent go in ${PREFIX}/bin
* jar/zip/etc files for use by java programs go in
${PREFIX}/lib/java
* examples for java packages go in ${PREFIX}/share/examples/java
* documentation for java packages go in ${PREFIX}/share/doc/java
JVMs go in their own directories, right now ${PREFIX}/{java,kaffe}, which
is necessary so that multiple JVMs can be installed concurrently, and so
that the miriad packages which count on ${JAVA_HOME} pointing to a JVM
install will DTRT.
Most java packages already use something similar or can be adapted easily.
Java packages such as Jakarta with large amounts of private java will need
to be addressed separately.

Remove obsolete entry for "MUTT_INTERNATIONAL".
tron [Tue, 9 May 2000 18:09:10 +0000 (18:09 +0000)]
Update "mutt" package to version 1.2i - there is not crippled version any
more. Change since version 1.0.1i:
- heavily improved IMAP support (thanks to Brandon Long
and Brendan Cully for their work),
- support for using IMAP over SSL (thanks to Tommi
Kommulainen),
- a completely changed interface for configuring mutt's
PGP support. It's now format-based, and much more
flexible than it used to be in the past.
- a split of the old edit-message command into
resend-message and edit-message. While the former gives
you what could be described as "recall from arbitrary
folders", the latter can be used to low-level modify
messages.
- the weeding paradigma has changed. Instead of options
controlling weeding behaviour for all kinds of purposes,
there is one global $weed option which is toggled when
you use what used to be known as display-headers (now
display-toggle-weed). That is, you have some kind of
"WYSIWYG" support with weeding.
- we have a muttrc (5) manual page now, and it's even
up-to-date.
- you can better control your messages' header and
envelope from headers
- the message commands on the attachment menu have been
rewritten. Just try replying to an attachment, and
you'll see what happens. ;-)
- mailing list support has changed. You may wish to
rename your "lists" commands to "subscribe". But please
read README.UPGRADE before!
- Bug fixes of all sorts.
