Import of open2300-mysql - an add-on to the open2300 pkg, that logs data
from the weather station to a mysql database.

Import of open2300, a set of utilities to read data from and controll a
weather station WS23xx.

Import xapply-3.4.

xapply (Extended Apply) is an clever derivative of xargs and apply.
Using list or tabular input from one or more descriptors, xapply executes
a template command modified for each input.  It supports simple split
on token expression, and has support (a la make -j) for running many
jobs in parallel.

Import mkcmd-8.14.

mkcmd lets us build a nifty command line option parser and some on-line
documentation in a snap.  It is a prerequisite for many of Kevin
Braunsdorf's tools.

racoon speaks IKE (ISAKMP/Oakley) key management protocol, to
establish IPsec security association with other hosts.

This is based on KAME racoon, with some enhancements such as
NAT-Traversal (needs a kernel patch), hybrid authentication,
ISAKMP mode config, RADIUS support, IKE fragmentation and others.

Ipsec-tools' racoon is able to act as a VPN server for the
Cisco VPN client using hybrid authentication.

QEMU is a FAST! processor emulator using dynamic translation to achieve
good emulation speed, QEMU has two operating modes:

    * Full system emulation. In this mode, QEMU emulates a full system
      (for example a PC), including a processor and various peripherals.
      It can be used to launch different Operating Systems without rebooting
      the PC or to debug system code.
    * User mode emulation (Linux host only). In this mode, QEMU can launch
      Linux processes compiled for one CPU on another CPU. It can be used
      to launch the Wine Windows API emulator or to ease cross-compilation
      and cross-debugging.

Import aliados from pkgsrc-wip.  Packaged by ivaniclixx at gmail dot com,
and modified by Roland Illig and me.

Aliados is a CP/M 80 emulator that instead of emulate a machine and
run some variant of CP/M on it, emulates only the microprocessor and
captures all CP/M system calls to execute it natively.  Actually only
emulates a small part of CP/M, but with that already can execute many
programs, such as WordStar, Micrsoft Basic, Mallard Basic, Hi-Tech C,
Turbo Pascal and many others.  Aliados does not need to create disk
images, it reads and writes in the native filesystem all files that
match the CP/M name conventions.

Add php pdflib PECL extension package version 1.0 - PHP extension for
PDFlib on-the-fly PDF generation. This replaces php4-only php4-zip.

While there is newer version available in PECL (2.0.2 ATM), it doesn't
build with PDFlib 4.x, so we use version 1.0, i.e. the same version
which ships with PHP 4.3.9.

Mantis is a web-based bugtracking system. It is written in the PHP scripting
language and requires the MySQL database and a webserver. Mantis has been
installed on Windows, MacOS, OS/2, and a variety of Unix operating systems.
Almost any web browser should be able to function as a client. It is released
under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL).

Mantis is free to use and modify. It is free to redistribute as long as you
abide by the distribution terms of the GPL.

Import bmon from pkgsrc-wip.  Packaged by hsaliak at gmail dot com, and
slightly modified by me.

Bmon is an interface bandwidth monitor.  It is able to generate and
draw three types of diagrams: The overview diagram which is a list of
all interfaces and their send/receive rates.  A very MRTG like
graphical diagram in ASCII showing the rate over a specific time
period in a bar diagram.  The details diagram which contains all
counters of an interface such as total bytes sent/received, errors,
compressed packets and so on.

Initial import of gimp-warp-sharp.

Sharpening images with traditional methods increases the amount of
noise in the image.  This script implements a method to sharpen images
described by Joern Loviscach in the german computer magazine c't,
22/1999.

Basically it "squeezes" unsharp edges. This method is a simplified
Version of an algorithm by Nur Arad and Craig Gotsman: "Enhancement by
Image-Dependent Warping", IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 1999,
Vol. 8, No. 8, S. 1063.

PerlIO::eol is a PerlIO layer for normalizing line endings.

Import p5-File-Type-0.22.

File::Type uses magic numbers (typically at the start of a file)
to determine the MIME type of that file.  File::Type can use either
a filename, or file contents, to determine the type of a file.

Import p5-Class-DBI version 0.96.

Class::DBI provides a convenient abstraction layer to a database.

It not only provides a simple database to object mapping layer, but can
be used to implement several higher order database functions (triggers,
referential integrity, cascading delete etc.), at the application level,
rather than at the database.

This is particularly useful when using a database which doesn't support
these (such as MySQL), or when you would like your code to be portable
across multiple databases which might implement these things in
different ways.

In short, Class::DBI aims to make it simple to introduce 'best practice'
when dealing with data stored in a relational database.

Import p5-UNIVERSAL-moniker version 0.08.

Class names in Perl often don't sound great when spoken, or look good
when written in prose. For this reason, we tend to say things like
"customer" or "basket" when we are referring to
"My::Site::User::Customer" or "My::Site::Shop::Basket". We thought it
would be nice if our classes knew what we would prefer to call them.

This module will add a "moniker" (and "plural_moniker") method to
"UNIVERSAL", and so to every class or module.

Import p5-Lingua-EN-Inflect version 1.88.

The exportable subroutines of Lingua::EN::Inflect provide plural
inflections and "a"/"an" selection for English words.

Plural forms of all nouns, most verbs, and some adjectives are
provided. Where appropriate, "classical" variants (for example:
"brother" -> "brethren", "dogma" -> "dogmata", etc.) are also
provided.

Add php zip PECL extension package version 1.0 - PHP extension for ZIP archive
handling. This replaces php4-only php4-zip.

Import p5-Ima-DBI 0.33.  From the module's documentation:

Ima::DBI attempts to organize and facilitate caching and more
efficient use of database connections and statement handles.

One of the things I always found annoying about writing large
programs with DBI was making sure that I didn't have duplicate
database handles open.  I was also annoyed by the somewhat wasteful
nature of the prepare/execute/finish route I'd tend to go through
in my subroutines.  The new DBI->connect_cached and DBI->prepare_cached
helped alot, but I still had to throw around global datasource,
username and password information.

So, after a while I grew a small library of DBI helper routines
and techniques.  Ima::DBI is the culmination of all this, put into
a nice(?), clean(?) class to be inherited from.

Import p5-DBIx-ContextualFetch version  1.01.

It always struck me odd that DBI didn't take much advantage of Perl's
context sensitivity. DBIx::ContextualFetch redefines some of the various
fetch methods to fix this oversight. It also adds a few new methods for
convenience (though not necessarily efficiency).

Import p5-Class-WhiteHole version 0.03.

Its possible to accidentally inherit an AUTOLOAD method.  Often this
will happen if a class somewhere in the chain uses AutoLoader or
defines one of their own.  This can lead to confusing error messages
when method lookups fail.

Sometimes you want to avoid this accidental inheritance.  In that
case, inherit from Class::WhiteHole.  All unhandled methods will
produce normal Perl error messages.

Import p5-MasonX-Request-WithApacheSession 0.30.

This module takes advantage of the new flexibility in Mason 1.09_01
and newer to integrate an Apache::Session session directly into
Mason's Request object.

Libvisual is an abstraction library that comes between applications
and audio visualisation plugins.

Often when it comes to audio visualisation plugins or programs that
create visuals, they depend on a player or something else; basically,
there is no general framework that enabled application developers
to easily access cool audio visualisation plugins. Libvisual wants
to change this by providing an interface towards plugins and
applications; through this easy to use interface applications can
easily access plugins and, since the drawing is done by the
application, it also enables the developer to draw the visual
anywhere he wants.

The framework also allows you to morph to different plugins and
mix two at once; all kinds of neat tricks are possible using this
method.

Import p5-Apache-AuthCookieDBI version 1.19.

Apache::AuthCookieDBI is a module that subclasses Apache::AuthCookie and is
designed to be directly used for authentication in a mod_perl server.

It is a ticket-issuing system that looks up username/passwords in a DBI
database using generic SQL and issues MD5-checksummed tickets valid for
a configurable time period.  Incoming requests with tickets are
checksummed and expire-time checked.

Import p5-Apache-AuthCookie, version 3.05.

Apache::AuthCookie allows you to intercept a user's first unauthenticated
access to a protected document. The user will be presented with a custom
form where they can enter authentication credentials. The credentials are
posted to the server where AuthCookie verifies them and returns a session
key.

libextractor-0.3.10, a metadata generator for arbitrary files:

libextractor is a simple library for keyword extraction.  libextractor
does not support all formats but supports a simple plugging mechanism
such that you can quickly add extractors for additional formats, even
without recompiling libextractor. libextractor typically ships with a
dozen helper-libraries that can be used to obtain keywords from common
file-types.

Initial import of visitors-0.4a:

Visitors is a very fast web log analyzer for Linux, Windows, and
other Unix-like operating systems. It takes as input a web server
log file, and outputs statistics in form of different reports.
The design principles are very different compared to other software
of the same type:

   * No installation required, can process up to 150,000 lines of
     log entries per second in fast computers (20MB/s with my log
     files average length).
   * Designed to be executed by the command line, output html and
     text reports. The text report can be used in pipe to less to
     check web stats from ssh.
   * Support for real time statistics with the Visitors Stream Mode
     introduced with version 0.3.
   * To specify the log format is not needed at all. Works out of
     box with apache and most other web servers with a standard log
     format (see the documentation for more information on the format).
   * It's a portable C program, can be compiled on many different
     systems.
   * The produced html report doesn't contain images or external
     CSS, is self-contained, you can send it by email to users.
   * Visitors is free software (and of course, freeware), under
     the terms of the GPL license. You don't need to pay to use it.

Pftop is a small, curses-based utility for real-time display of
active states and rule statistics for PF, the packet filter from OpenBSD.

Pfstat is a small utility that collects statistics for the OpenBSD
Packer Filter and produces graphs like mrtg, rrdtool or alike.

Packet Filter (from here on referred to as PF) is OpenBSD's system for
filtering TCP/IP traffic and doing Network Address Translation. PF is also
capable of normalizing and conditioning TCP/IP traffic.

PF was originally developed by Daniel Hartmeier and is now maintained and
developed by Daniel and the rest of the OpenBSD team.

This package includes a complete port (LKM and userland utilities) from
OpenBSD 3.6 to NetBSD 2.0.

Import p5-SNMP-MIB-Compiler.

SNMP::MIB::Compiler is a MIB compiler that fully supports
both SMI(v1) and SMIv2. This module can be use to compile
MIBs (recursively or not) or load already compiled MIBs for
later use.

Import p5-Chart-ThreeD perl module.

Chart::ThreeD::Pie allows you to create 3D Piecharts very easily
and emit the drawings as GIF files. You can customize almost everything
using a large number of methods.

Text::Tabs performs the same job that the unix expand(1) and unexpand(1)
commands do: adding or removing tabs from a document.

Text::Wrap::wrap() will reformat lines into paragraphs.  All it does is
break up long lines, it will not join short lines together.

Text::Fill::fill() will reformat blocks of text into paragraphs.  It
uses Text::Wrap::wrap() to do the work

PatchReader is a set of utilities for reading in, transforming, and doing
various other things with a patch.  It basically allows you to create a chain of
readers that can read a patch, remove files from a patch, add CVS context, fix
up the patch root according to CVS, and output the patch as raw unified or
through a template processor (used in some places to output a patch as HTML).

This module is an attempt to build a general purpose graphing module that is
easily modified and expanded.

Initial import of p5-XML-Filer-BufferText version 1.01 into the NetBSD Packages
Collection.

This Perl 5 module is a very simple filter for XML parsers.  One
common cause of grief (and programmer error) is that XML parsers
aren't required to provide character events in one chunk. They can,
but are not forced to, and most don't. This filter does the trivial
but often-repeated task of putting all characters into a single event.

Actually this is the second import hopefully in the right directory this
time. Sorry for the mess.

Initial import of p5-Unicode-Map8 version 0.12 into the NetBSD Packages
Collection.

The Unicode::Map8 class implement efficient mapping tables between
8-bit character sets and 16 bit character sets like Unicode.  About
170 different mapping tables between various known character sets and
Unicode is distributed with this package.  The source of these tables
is the vendor mapping tables provided by Unicode, Inc. and the code
tables in RFC 1345.  New maps can easily be installed.

Re-import gtl as gtl0, since this (older) version is needed for
math/cassowary and I'll update gtl in a minute.

DESCR:
GTL is a graph library based on STL.  For the design of GTL's API the
API of LEDA has served as a basis.  GTL contains the classes needed to
work with graphs, nodes and edges and some basic algorithms (DFS, BFS,
topsort ...) as building blocks for more complex graph algorithms.

This package contains an older version of the library, for a newer
version use the gtl package.

This  Perl5 module  is  designed as  a  help  for  managing (ranges
of) IP addresses. It includes efficient implementations for most
common tasks done  to subnets or  ranges of  IP addresses,  namely
verifying  if an address is within a subnet, comparing, looping,
splitting subnets into longer prefixes, compacting addresses to
the shortest prefixes, etc. Both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses are
supported.

Initial import of p5-Test-Pod version 1.20 in the NetBSD Packages
Collection.

The Test::Pod Perl 5 module permits to check the validity of a POD file,
and reports its result in standard Test::Simple fashion.

Initial import of p5-Test-Builder-Tester version 1.01 in the NetBSD Packages

This perl5 module permits helps test testing modules that are built
with Test::Builder.

adtool is a Unix command line utility for Active Directory
administration.  Features include user and group creation, deletion,
modification, password setting and directory query and search
capabilities.

Import p5-X11-Protocol from pkgsrc-wip.  Packaged by Roland Illig.

X11::Protocol and the related modules in this distribution are a rough
equivalent of Xlib (libX11.a, with a bit of Xau and Xext mixed in)
used for drawing windows on and otherwise manipulating X11 window
servers.

"Swapd" is a daemon that watches free memory and manages swap files. If free
memory drops too low, additional swap files are created. Additionally, if there
is too much free memory, swap files are deactivated and disk space may be
reclaimed.

PuTTY is a client program for the SSH, Telnet and Rlogin network protocols.

These protocols are all used to run a remote session on a computer, over a
network. PuTTY implements the client end of that session: the end at which
the session is displayed, rather than the end at which it runs.

Import PHP 5.0.2, based on the pkgsrc-wip PHP5 package.

Some of the key features of PHP 5 include:
* The Zend Engine II with a new object model and dozens of new features.
* XML support has been completely redone in PHP 5, all extensions
  are now focused around the excellent libxml2 library
  (http://www.xmlsoft.org/).
* A new SimpleXML extension for easily accessing and manipulating
  XML as PHP objects. It can also interface with the DOM extension
  and vice-versa.
* A brand new built-in SOAP extension for interoperability with Web Services.
* A new MySQL extension named MySQLi for developers using MySQL
  4.1 and later. This new extension includes an object-oriented
  interface in addition to a traditional interface; as well as support
  for many of MySQL's new features, such as prepared statements.

  low-level socket operations on streams.

FastCGI provides a high-performance alternative to CGI for writing Web
server applications in a variety of languages, including Perl, C, C++,
Java, and Python.  FastCGI gets its speed by having keeping application
processes running between requests.  So, unlike CGI, you do not have the
overhead of starting up a new process and doing application initialization
(e.g. connecting to a database) each time somebody requests a document.

This package works with Apache version 2 series.  In order to use FastCGI
with the version 1.3 series, use www/ap-fastcgi instead.

This module replaces the standard localtime and gmtime functions with
implementations that return objects.  It does so in a backwards
compatible manner, so that using localtime/gmtime in the way

rexima is a curses-based interactive mixer which can also be used
from the command-line. It runs on any terminal with a screen size
of 80x24 or greater. It's intended to be a simple, general, usable

GNU Gadu is an instant messanger application, designed to work with IM
protocols popular in Poland (but not only). This is a plugin based
application, even GUI (which uses GTK+) is a plugin. Currently we support:
Gadu-Gadu, Tlen.pl, Jabber.

This converter was written for the Hermes project and is now released to the
general public. The code inside this converter is extremely flexible, you can
write a syntax file to convert between any two assembler languages on a good
day.. :)

XMLTV is a set of utilities to manage your TV viewing. They work with TV
listings stored in the XMLTV format, which is based on XML. The idea is to
separate out the backend (getting the listings) from the frontend (displaying
them for the user), and to implement useful operations like picking out your
favourite programmes as filters that read and write XML documents.

At present there are backends grabbing TV listings for Canada, the USA, the UK,
Germany, Austria, Finland, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Hungary, Denmark,
Japan, Sweden, France, Norway, and Romania.

HTML::LinkExtractor is used for extracting links from HTML. It is very
similar to HTML::LinkExtor, except that besides getting the URL, you also
get the link-text.

A progress bar for things that take a while.  It looks like

and is as long as the terminal.  Linear estimation of the time left for
the process to run is available.
