   1 Goofey is a program which provides many services by communicating
   2 with a central server Pluto. Services provided by goofey include
   3 remote user location, message sending, fortune provision, jargon
   4 file lookup and a timetable service.

   6 Goofey is the preferred mode of communciation of many people, as
   7 it combines the immediacy of talk(1) and the asynchronous nature of
   8 mail(1). That is, you will know if messages sent with goofey have
   9 been received by the recipient almost immediately. Goofey also
  10 provides facilities for users to supply finger type information, an
  11 'away' message for when you are away, a 'quiet' message for when
  12 you are busy or away from the terminal. In fact, just about everything
  13 that people have been able to put up a good case for is included in
  14 the server.
