   1 Whoson ("WHO iS ONline") is a proposed Internet protocol that allows
   2 Internet server programs know if a particular (dynamically allocated)
   3 IP address is currently allocated to a known (trusted) user and,
   4 optionally, the identity of the said user.

   6 The protocol could be used by an SMTP Message Transfer System in
   7 conjunction with anti-spam-relaying filters to implement a scheme
   8 similar to the one described here to allow roaming customers use
   9 their "home" SMTP server to submit email while connected from a
  10 "foreign" network.
